Joseph Pilates
We offer one-on- one private instruction to learn the basic principles of the Pilates Method.
Sessions will focus on teaching you proper form, alignment, breath, and the fundamentals of Pilates. You will be introduced to both the Reformer and Tower and sometimes instructors will also use other pieces of apparatus to individualize your program.
55 minute sessions.
We offer small group Pilates equipment classes, using the Pilates reformer and tower units. Both machines use spring-loaded resistance to provide strength, flexibility, and balance and assist with performing controlled, safe movements throughout classes. Follow class schedule link below to sign up.
Prefer to train with a friend? We also offer duet sessions, which are semi-private sessions, paced for each individual client's level. Sessions are scheduled based on client and instructor availability. Sessions are 55 minutes.
We offer 45-55 minute Pilates mat classes in the studio, and now virtually through ZOOM (NEW!) and outdoors (NEW!). The matwork is fundamental to Joseph Pilates work and is important to learn to really understand controlled movement in your body.
We offer multiple levels of matwork at Free Movement Pilates and teach both classical and contemporary methods of Pilates.
Free Movement Pilates is the home of the Restorative Pilates Method. Restorative Pilates Mat Level 1 is a fundamental mat class focused on retraining correct breathing and mobility patterns into the body to prepare your body for Joseph Pilate's more classical matwork. Level 2 classes incorporate more classical Pilates exercises into class, once you have an understanding of proper body connection and form. Restorative Pilates combines both contemporary and classical teaching methods and is safe and effective for all clients with osteoporosis or arthritic joint issues.
