Frequently Asked Questions

Is Pilates Right for Me?

Regardless of age, sex, fitness level, pain level, movement level, or disability, Pilates has benefits for every BODY.

Do I have to be in shape to start a pilates program?

No, Pilates can be modified for all levels.  Movement heals. Pilates programs often start with instructing a client how to move with a new awareness of posture and core support.  We meet your body where it is on any given day.

Do I need a mat? What else do I bring/wear?

For Pilates mat classes, a thicker mat is available for students. Yoga students will often bring their own thinner Yoga mat to class.  'Grippy socks are recommended for Pilates or Yoga. Wear comfortable clothing that will allow your body to move. Water is available at the studio.

How many times a week should I participate in a Pilates exercise routine?

This is a common question.  1x a week (consecutive weeks) is especially recommended for the intro private four pack.  Significant progress is achieved with weekly Pilates sessions. Some clients choose to come 2-3x/week and mix Reformer, Tower, and Mat classes, however initially you will certainly find benefit with weekly sessions, especially when adding a Pilates routine to other types of exercises programs (cardio, weight training, Yoga),

How do I pay?

All payments are processed directly through our booking site, JANE, but we also accept cash and check.

How Do I Make a Reservation?

If you are brand new to Free Movement Pilates, please fill out the New Client Interest Survey using the link below so we can gather some information to better serve you.

After submitting the form — or if you do not yet have an account in our booking system, JANE — please click here to be taken to JANE. In the top right corner, you’ll find the option to sign up and then create account.

To schedule a private or semi-private session, please contact the instructor of your choice directly. All of our instructors are Independent Contractors and manage their own rates and availability, which they can discuss with you.

If you already have a JANE account, you can go directly to the Home page on the Free Movement Pilates website to book your classes.

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the practitioner's day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hour notice, may be charged a late cancellation fee or no show fee to the card on file.  Please discuss fees directly with your practitioner/instructor.  These fees will go directly to your provider, as their time is valuable and they may have been able to fill the spot with someone else.

Minimum Class Requirement/Discounted Private Offer

We require a minimum of two students to hold an equipment class (Reformer or Tower).  If the minimum is not met by 24 hours before class, the instructor may cancel class or reach out to the single person signed up and offer a discounted private session ($60 reg. $70).  If the student does not want the discounted private, they will not lose their class if class is cancelled by the instructor.

Weather Cancellation Policy

We do not automatically follow the Bethlehem Central public school system’s lead when determining if the studio needs to close or class needs to be cancelled. In the event we do cancel classes due to the weather, the instructor will call or text private, duet, trio, or equipment clients.

The primary way of notifying clients of cancellations is by:

1.) canceling classes in JANE online scheduler, which you can view by clicking on link on HOME PAGE of www.freemovementpilates.com

2.)  sending out a constant contact email.
